To the future students of TTC,

Please let me introduce myself. My name is Robert L. Pippins Jr., but youRobert Pippins can call me Bob.  I am fifty-two years old, and I am getting ready to enter college this fall.  The TTC star has played a big roll in this accomplishment for me, and Transition to College can do the same for you.

First of all, everyone connected with this program will not tolerate negative thinking. These people are a "can do" bunch.  The teachers here will not say, "I think you can do it."  The teachers here say, "I know you can do it." Anyone can learn, so don't be afraid to go out into the maze. It may be scary at first, but with the help of the people at Transition to College, you will find the confidence to pursue a better life for yourself and your family through education.

Education is the key to whatever door you would like to open.  There is no limit to what you can do.  The only one who sets the limit is you, so don't limit yourself to mediocrity.  Go for the gold, and if you don't reach it the first time, don't fret.  No one ever said you couldn't try again.  Don't think that mistakes are useless, because they can be very important in the learning process. Everyone makes mistakes as long as you learn from them, and don't repeat the pattern.

At first, I was afraid of what other people might think of me because I have trouble with spelling and I can not read very fast, and as for math, forget about it.  But Marie, Sue, and John gave me the confidence, and shared their knowledge with me.  I have not reached my goal yet, and I probably won't for some time. But I can tell you this, I will never stop moving forward. You know what, maybe it's not the gold I'm looking for, but the journey and the wonderful people I will meet along the way. Whatever your goal is, or what ever gold you are looking for, you have a great chance of attaining it through the Transition to College program.  I recommend TTC for anyone who is interested in higher learning.  The teachers will give you confidence, and motivate you to do your best.  After all, isn't that what you really what from a teacher.

I can't say enough about how great all the people who are involved in Transition to College really are. I love them, and I thank God for bringing Marie, Sue, John, and, oh yes, let me not forget my good friend and mentor, Gylean, into my life.
